Biofilms

  • A polyester produced from renewable feedstocks like sugarcane, corn, sugar beet and cassava.
  • Ideal for packaging: Flexible Packaging Layer or Monofilm, also with the barrier or heat resistance
  • Can be Transparent, Opaque, Flexible or Rigid, with a gloss or transparency comparable to polystyrene and a rigidity modulus comparable to polyesters.
  • Its aroma and odour-barrier properties coupled with resistance to attacks by fat make it a unique polymer for food packaging.
  • It has the same heat-sealing capacities as polyolefins.

Application & Solutions

Choice for many brand owners who are looking for a solution to meet their increasing demand requirements for sustainability and performance.

Rigid Packaging

Attractive-looking bottles, especially in terms of gloss, and very good mechanical properties.

Flexible Packaging

Different flexible packaging applications, including organic waste bin liners, dual use compostable shopping bags, fruit & vegetable bags, lidding film, flow wrappers and snack packaging.

Durable Goods

High heat compounds offer durable solution for consumers that are looking for more sustainable and safer products in appliances, automotive , bank & gift cards, toys and reusable food service ware.

Food Take-away Solutions

Multiple end-of-life options to be used depending on the application used. If used in closed-loop environments it can help to simplify waste streams and can result in diversion of organic waste from landfill and increased recycling rates.

3D Printing

Most popular 3D printing filament! It’s easy to print with, boasts a competitive price and offers an extensive variety in the market.

Non-wovens Products

Most commonly used conversion technologies for non-wovens and can be combined with many natural products like cotton, wool or cellulose for 100% biobased solutions with the right performance for the application.

Labeling

Shrink sleeve label to the contours of even uniquely shaped glass bottles, providing a high-gloss, premium look that meets needs for environmentally friendly packaging.

Structural applications

Can be used in the construction industry as, for example, foam for insulation, fiber used in carpets, and in furnishing.

What is your application?

“The current Bioplastics market is characterised by high growth of about 20-100 percent annually and strong diversification. Bioplastics today still represent well under one percent of the about 280 million tonnes of plastics produced worldwide annually”
